Pietsie Campbell grew up on Vancouver Island in western Canada and spent her summers and winters in the wilds of British Columbia, camping with her parents and sister in their Volkswagen van. She received her BFA in Fine Arts from University of Victoria majoring in painting and photography. After moving to Los Angeles in the 1990's, she worked as a graphic designer and art director for many years until the arrival of her daughter Charlie. Founded in 2015, Pietsie originally started as a children's clothing label. Pietsie (pronounced Peet-see) means 'a little bit' in Dutch - a nickname her mother (who emigrated to Canada from Holland) gave her when she was a baby. In 2016 she debuted her women's collection at the Echo Park Craft Fair in Silverlake using dead-stock and vintage fabrics. All our clothes are designed and made here in Los Angeles. We love beautiful fabrics and design and produce our own custom prints. For our fall/winter collections we source fabric from Japan and use dead-stock from local suppliers. Relaxed pants, loose caftans and soft dresses complete the laid-back daily uniform that we hope will become much-loved staples in your wardrobe.
